Анотація
The article analyses the long-term consequences of Reformation and Protestantism, which gave extraordinary impetus to the strategic development of the European continent. The role of Adam Smith’s book “An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations” and his arguments that society has a moral obligation to ensure a decent standard of living for all people are considered related to the present course of reforms in Ukraine. It is justified that the Government of Ukraine badly needs modern tools that will effectively facilitate reforming of public administration. Special attention is attributed to the Nobel laureate Vernon Smith's ideas which promote the ways that changed European countries and lessons that Ukraine could learn for successful development along the European path.
