dc.descriptionThe purpose of the article is to describe the historical images and narratives with which the Muscovite side accompanies the actions of its army invading Ukraine in 2022, with the aim of determining the meaning of this informational support for the Muscovite soldiers themselves, for their sympathizers, as well as for the population of the territories occupied by Moscow’s forces, and observers of this war from other countries. The methodology, in connection with the review of diametrically different narratives in the Muscovite propaganda, is based on the historical-comparative method, in a separate case with the involvement of elements of content analysis, which was made by researchers of Spanish-language pro-Moscow messages on the Internet. The results of the study indicate that the symbolism of Moscow's aggression was and remains inextricably linked with their historical contacts with the territory of Ukraine and the desire to portray themselves as “victors over fascism.” However, with the spread of occupation in the territories of Ukraine that went through decommunization, the aggressors have established new priorities: the return of the Soviet and the “protection” of Tsarist symbols, despite the latter being unaffected by decommunization. In addition, popular Western media trends regarding the “Global South” and a new “Satanic panic” in the United States were taken into account by propaganda. This article examines the historical images and narratives used by the Russian side for the informational support of its army during the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Researchers focus on understanding the messages and symbolism used to manipulate soldiers, supporters of the Russian Federation, residents of occupied territories, and viewers from other countries. The research methodology includes a historical-comparative method with additional content analysis of Spanish-language pro-Russian messages on the Internet. The research results show that the symbolism and historical context of the Moscow aggression are deeply connected to their old contacts with the territory of Ukraine and their attempts to portray themselves as "victors over fascism." However, with the spread of occupation in Ukrainian territories, the aggressors change their symbolism, resorting to Soviet and Tsarist symbols that have not undergone decommunization. Additionally, Moscow's propaganda of invasion takes into account popular Western media trends, such as "Global South" and "Satanic panic" in the USA. This article helps to reveal the complex psychological and informational aspect of the Moscow war, which includes the foundations of historical images and narratives to shape support and legitimacy for aggression. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the information strategies used in the context of war and underscores the importance of countermeasures and an objective approach to analyzing balanced information for effective countering of information operations in the modern world
dc.description.abstractУ даній статті розглядаються історичні образи та наративи, які використовує московська сторона для інформаційного супроводу своєї армії під час вторгнення до України у 2022 році. Дослідники зосереджуються на розумінні того, які повідомлення та символіка використовуються для маніпулювання військовиків, прихильників РФ, жителів окупованих територій та глядачів з інших країн. Методологія дослідження включає історико-порівняльний метод з додатковим контент-аналізом іспаномовних промосковських повідомлень у Інтернеті. Результати дослідження показують, що символіка та історичний контекст московської агресії мають глибокі зв'язки з їхніми старими контактами з територією України та намаганням зображати себе як «переможців фашизму». Однак, з поширенням окупації на українських територіях, агресори змінюють свою символіку, звертаючись до радянських та царських символів, що не підлягали декомунізації. Також пропаганда московського вторгнення враховує популярні західні медіа-тренди, такі як «Глобальний Південь» та "Satanic panic" у США. Ця стаття допомагає розкрити складний психологічний та інформаційний аспект московської війни, який включає підвалини історичних образів та наративів для формування підтримки та легітимності агресії. Вона підкреслює важливість розуміння інформаційних стратегій, використовуваних в контексті війни, і наголошує на важливості контрдії та об'єктивного підходу до аналізу збалансованої інформації для ефективного протидії інформаційним операціям у сучасному світі.
