dc.descriptionУ главі проаналізовано витоки та етапи формування геополітичних і інформаційно-ідеологічних передумов війни Російської Федерації проти України в ключові моменти сучасних українсько-російських відносин. Основну увагу зосереджено на переосмисленні дипломатичних договорів, політичних заяв, економічних важелів впливу та інформаційного супроводу двосторонніх відносин від початку 1990-х років до 2010-х років. На основі мемуарів українських державних діячів, офіційних документів і публічних заяв російського керівництва показано, що підготовка до війни проти України не була ситуативним рішенням періоду правління В. Путіна, а мала системний і довготривалий характер, закладений ще в пострадянський період. Доведено, що Крим, статус Чорноморського флоту, питання кордонів, енергетичні важелі та ідеологічні наративи про «спільну історію» й «захист російськомовних» послідовно використовувалися Москвою як інструменти «промацування» готовності України та Заходу до спротиву. Окремо проаналізовано роль офіційної інформаційної риторики та її трансформацію від неформальних погроз до відкритого ідеологічного обґрунтування агресії, зафіксованого в заявах російського керівництва напередодні 2014 року. Зроблено висновок про визначальну роль інформаційної війни та політики поступок у створенні умов для подальшої відкритої агресії.
dc.description.abstractThe chapter analyzes the origins and stages of formation of the geopolitical and information-ideological prerequisites for the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine during the pivotal moments of contemporary Russian-Ukrainian relations. The study re-examines bilateral treaties, political statements, economic leverage, and the information environment surrounding Ukrainian-Russian relations from the early 1990s to the 2010s. Drawing on memoirs of Ukrainian policymakers, official documents, and public statements of Russian leadership, the chapter demonstrates that preparations for war against Ukraine were not a situational decision of the Putin era but a long-term and systematic strategy rooted in the post-Soviet period. It is shown that Crimea, the status of the Black Sea Fleet, border issues, energy dependency, and ideological narratives of “shared history” and “protection of Russian speakers” were consistently employed by Moscow as tools for testing Ukraine’s and the West’s readiness to resist pressure and aggression. Special attention is given to the evolution of Russian information warfare—from semi-official threats and media rhetoric to the formal ideological justification of aggression articulated at the highest political level prior to 2014. The chapter concludes that information warfare and policies of appeasement played a decisive role in creating the conditions for Russia’s open military aggression against Ukraine.
